The primary mission of the ECC Workforce
Development One Stop Center is to help
jobseekers access the skills they need to obtain
employment while linking individuals to hiring
employers. All of our services are complimentary
- there is never a cost to receive our services.
The ECC Workforce Development One Stop Center is
funded by the Buffalo and Erie County Workforce
Development Consortium, Inc. on behalf of the
Workforce Investment Board of Buffalo and Erie
County, Inc. Explore alternative career paths,

The One Stop offers state of the art
computers with high speed Internet access for
jobseekers, as well as classroom and meeting
space for visiting businesses. Complimentary
computer classes and workshops are also offered
on a wide range of topics including:

The Erie Community College One Stop Center
offers many complimentary workshops to help you
achieve your career goals.
Career Exploration
This workshop will assist participants in making
a career choice using personality, interest and
skill assessments.
Creating and Using E-mail
Learn how to create a personal e-mail account
and how to send attachments.
Discover
This workshop is designed to assess a person's
abilities, interests and values as they relate
to the "World of Work." Assessments will be done
on a personal and group basis. Prerequisite:
Must have basic computer skills.
Exploring the Hidden Job Market
In this workshop the student will explore all
possible resources and tools involved in
conducting a thorough job search.
How to Complete Online Applications
Many employment opportunities can only be
applied for online. So gain this easy-to-learn
skill by attending an online application
training seminar. Prerequisite: Basic
keyboarding skills.
How to Make Your Age an Asset
This workshop will provide you with some fresh
ideas for your job search regardless of your

Reduce job stress and remove obstacles to your

Discover job hunting rules and how to conduct an
effective job search utilizing the resources at
the One Stop Center.
Job Search Assistance Lab
This is an open lab that will provide you with
some new techniques for job searching.
Job Training for Demand Occupations
This workshop will provide an overview of
eligibility for occupational training grants as
well as the "next steps" of the process.
The Internet & Your Job Search
Learn how to do an online job search, research
businesses, and discover other tips to help with
your job search.
Modern Interview Techniques
Learn how to make a positive impression and how
to answer some of the most commonly asked
interview questions.
Orientation to One Stop Services
Learn about the cost-free services available to
jobseekers from friendly and resourceful staff
at the ECC One Stop Center.
Posting Your Résumé Online
During this workshop you will learn about
keywords and how to post your résumé online.
Pre-requisite: Must be able to access an
electronic version of your résumé via email,
floppy disk or flash drive.
Résumés and Cover Letters
This workshop will teach you how to write
résumés and cover letters.
Résumé Writing 101
In this 2 day workshop participants will learn
helpful tips, résumé guidelines, and write a
professional résumé.
Selling Yourself to the Employer
In this workshop participants will learn how to
present and sell themselves to an employer
through image and body language.
